Autobiographical Incident When I was younger, I was having a tough time in school. A certain group of girls were picking on me for no reason. I was really upset and I had all this anger built up inside of me. Unfortunately, I was taking that anger out on the one person who would always be my friend. One day, my mom came downstairs. “What?” I said. “Ava’s really upset with you. I think you should go apologize.” I sighed. I heard this story too many times. “What did I do now?” I said with an annoyed tone. “You called her stupid.” “So?” “It really hurts her feelings. You know how you feel when those girls pick on you at school? That’s how she feels in her own home.” I was silent. I couldn’t believe that my sister was feeling the same way I did, and it was because of me. I ran upstairs to my sister’s room and knocked on the door. “Yes?” she said. I walked in slowly. “ Hey. I’m sorry about how I’ve been treating you lately. I know how you feel because I’ve been going through the same thing at school.” “It’s okay,” she said. Now the relationship between me and my sister is so much better.
